Method Compatibility
Penetrant class is dictated by surface chemistry and susceptibility to chemical attack. PROMAG builds complete FPI systems around two principal removal methods.
Water-Washable (A)
Excess penetrant rinses away directly with water — the shortest route through the process, and the reason it suits high-throughput parts.
Post-Emulsified — Lipophilic (B) & Hydrophilic (D)
A specialized emulsifier step controls removal rather than rushing it, keeping penetrant where micro-flaws hide. Built for safety-critical aerospace components.
Versatile Plant Layout Configuration
No matter your footprint, PROMAG brings 30+ years of spatial engineering expertise to integrate FPI systems into your facility. Four proven configurations, each with a different trade-off.
One Straight Line
Workpieces enter at pre-clean and move linearly to the unloading area. The shortest, simplest route through the process — minimum part handling risk, best suited to fast-flowing plants with the length to accommodate it.
U-Shape Configuration
The line doubles back so loading and unloading sit side by side, letting one operator manage both ends. A significant footprint saver compared with a straight run of the same station count.
L-Shape Flow Design
Fits along your workshop's perimeter walls or corners, preserving valuable center space for heavy machinery and transport access. The usual answer when floor space exists but not in a straight line.
Two / Multi-Line Integrated
Parallel FPI paths share centralized, high-cost modules — ultrasonic post-clean systems, large ovens, multi-level darkrooms. Capacity multiplies without the capital cost multiplying with it.
