PROMAG’s UV inspection solutions are applied across various industries for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
Quality Assurance supervisors and NDT technicians can perform fluorescent penetrant testing (FPI) and magnetic particle inspection (MPI) with full confidence using PROMAG’s LED UV-A lamps—whether in-house or out in the field under the most demanding conditions.
All PROMAG LED UV-A inspection lamps are engineered with a peak wavelength of 365 nm (or near 365 nm) to deliver optimal inspection performance. PROMAG LED UV-A lamps are rigorously tested and comply with the following international standards:
- ASTM E1444
- ASTM E1417
- ASTM E3022-18
- ISO 3059-12
- Rolls-Royce RRES 90061
Laboratory and Clean Room Applications
PROMAG LED UV-A lamps are state-of-the-art tools for detecting and revealing contamination and invisible soils where harmful bacteria and viruses can thrive. They are widely used in laboratories, clean rooms, offices, factories, hospitality, healthcare, food service, and government agencies to verify and enhance cleanliness and sanitation in critical environments.
PROMAG LED UV-A lamps are capable of detecting particles as small as 30 μm, invisible to the human eye, helping to prevent contamination and maintain the highest standards of hygiene.
Applications include:
- After Cleaning Machined Castings
By inspecting parts with PROMAG LED UV-A lamps, contamination invisible to the naked eye can be quickly detected. - Prior to Assembly in Laboratories and Clean Rooms
Ensuring cleanliness before assembly is critical. Illuminating parts with PROMAG UV light prior to entering the clean room minimizes the risk of contamination. - For Hygiene and Sanitation
PROMAG LED UV-A lamps can detect urine, body fluids, food stains, bacterial growth, mold, food spoilage, rodent contamination, and other unsanitary conditions, safeguarding both people and processes.
Leak Testing & Leak Detection
To detect leakage not visible to the human eye and identify leakage at an early stage. A wide selection of PROMAG LED UV-A lamps can be used in combination with PMG-fluorescent dye to perform leak detection tests. In order to detect fluid leaks and their sources quickly, PROMAG LED UV-A lamps can be used together with PMG-fluorescent tracer, which is the additives. This method is used by most manufacturers of petrol and diesel vehicle engines.
Gem & Mineral Inspection
The fluorescence of gems and gemstones is a result of UV radiation absorbed by the impurities or structural flaws of the stones. Detecting alternations and restoring cultural treasures, PROMAG LED UV-A lamps have been used by gemologists, jewelers and hobbyists alike to identify the correct minerals either at a work environment or out in the open.
Not only paintings can be examined with UV, but also pieces of art made of marble, jade, and ivory. Some minerals have the ability to temporarily absorb a small amount of light and release it at a different wavelength. This change in wavelength causes a temporary color change of the mineral, making it visible to the naked eye.
Art Conservation & Examination
To inspect and verify currency, passports and security documents, stamps, antiques, art and minerals. Detects watermarks, stains and imperfections.
PROMAG LED UV-A lamps can be used in detecting alternations and restoring cultural treasures in order to identify the authenticity of works of art or to inspect damaged or repaired paintings. Not only paintings can be examined with PROMAG LED UV-A lamps, but also pieces of art made of marble, jade, and ivory.
Forensic & Security inspection
Many difficult crimes are solved with the help of PROMAG LED UV-A lamps technology. Law enforcement officials, crime laboratories, police CSI teams and forensic professionals around the world can rely on PROMAG LED UV-A lamps products for a wide array of crime scene investigations (criminal investigations) and applications.
Agriculture / Pest Control
PROMAG LED UV-A lamps offer a wide range of Ultraviolet lamps for detecting mold, pest, and rodent contamination in the agricultural industry, and are also used for the detection of cancerous chemicals such as aflatoxins and infectious diseases on citrus fruits.
Curing & Coating
UV-A curing is used in many industries including automotive, electronics, telecommunications, graphic arts, converting and metal, glass and plastic decorating. PROMAG LED UV-A lamps is suitable to be used and offer short curing times to handling strength, low heat generation and energy consumption.
- Curing using
Curing with PROMAG high-intensity LED UV-A lamps is used to instantly dry inks, coatings, and adhesives. The process is based on a photochemical reaction when liquid monomers and oligomers are mixed with photoinitiators and exposed to LED UV-A lamps. - Curing Silicon at low temperature
Many silicone products are cured using PROMAG LED UV-A lamps for electronic display applications. During such process the curing time must be very short and the temperature as low as possible. - UV-A inspection of coatings on PCBs
Most PCBs manufactured are sealed with coating for moisture protection and water protection. So it is very significant that the coating is applied in a correct way on the PCB covering the components it is intended to. Some components are crucial to cover, others must not be covered. Inspecting the PCB with PROMAG LED UV-A lamps ensure that the coating has been applied correctly.
